What this site is

TruckStops.app is a directory of truck stops and travel centers. People come here to find stops \u2014 and, if they run one, to be found. This policy says, in plain language, what information the site handles and exactly where it goes.

What we collect

• What you send us. When you write to the listings desk, request the free guide, claim a listing or ask to list a stop, we receive what you put in that message \u2014 typically your name, your email address or phone number, your stop's name and its details.
• What the site records automatically. Standard hosting logs (pages visited, browser type, approximate region) that keep the site running and secure.
• Cookies. This site uses a small number of cookies and similar tools: to remember that you have seen the free-guide offer so it does not follow you around, and \u2014 when analytics are switched on (they are being switched on) \u2014 to count visits in aggregate so we can see which corridors and pages drivers use. No advertising trackers are placed by us on this site.

How we share your information

People come to a directory to hear from the businesses in it \u2014 that is the whole point of the place. Here is exactly where your information goes when you use this site:

The stop you pick. When you direct an inquiry to a specific stop \u2014 by asking about it by name or sending an inquiry that names it \u2014 you direct us to share your inquiry with that stop, so the stop can answer you and follow up with you about it. That is true whether the stop's listing is claimed or still unclaimed: the stop you chose gets the inquiry you sent it.

Our partner network. We also share your information with our partners and other third parties in our network \u2014 the truck stops, travel centers and road-service businesses that participate as partners in this directory \u2014 so they can provide you with information about the stops and services you asked about, in addition to other products and services that may be of interest to you. Please note: the partners that contact you may keep and use your information under their own privacy policies, which govern how they handle it \u2014 not this one.

The services that run this site. We share information with the service providers who help us operate \u2014 Cloudflare, which hosts these pages, and the email services that carry messages to and from our desk. They process your information only to provide those services.

The law. We share information when the law requires it \u2014 for example, to answer a court order or other legal obligation, or to protect someone's rights, property, or safety.

And one boundary that does not move: we do not collect financial account details, government ID numbers, or payment card numbers on this site, so none of that is ever in our hands to share. Anything separate from the directory \u2014 for example, asking Lionific about business funding \u2014 happens only when you separately and explicitly opt in to it.

Listing information

Facts in listings (names, addresses, exits, services) are drawn from what operators publish about their own businesses. An operator may correct or remove their listing's details at any time by writing to the address below.

Your choices

Ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it: write to [email protected] and we will act on it. If a partner contacts you and you want it to stop, tell them \u2014 their handling is under their own policy \u2014 and tell us too, so we can note it on our side.
